John & Smith Group is expanding its eCommerce presence with an exciting new Kids Apparels project based in the United Kingdom. Our Fashion Division is seeking innovative talent to help build and optimize our digital retail experience using the Shopify platform.

Role Overview:
We are looking for a skilled Shopify Developer to join our team and play a crucial role in developing and maintaining our eCommerce platform for kids apparels. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with creative problem-solving to deliver exceptional online shopping experiences.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain our Shopify-based eCommerce platform
  • Customize themes and implement responsive designs that align with our brand identity
  • Develop and integrate custom Shopify applications to enhance functionality
  • Implement payment gateways, shipping modules, and third-party service integrations
  • Optimize site performance, user experience, and conversion rates
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and bugs
  • Collaborate with design, marketing, and product teams to implement new features
  • Ensure cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness
  • Implement best practices for SEO and site speed optimization
  • Stay current with Shopify platform updates and eCommerce trends
  • Maintain secure coding practices and data protection standards
  • Document development processes, code changes, and technical specifications
  • Participate in code reviews and quality assurance testing
  • Provide technical support and training to internal teams

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or related field
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience developing on the Shopify platform
  • Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Liquid template language
  • Experience with Shopify API, theme customization, and app development
  • Knowledge of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git)
  • Understanding of eCommerce best practices and user experience principles
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and third-party integrations
  • Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Shopify Theme/App certification
  • Experience with Shopify Plus
  • Knowledge of React, Vue.js, or other modern JavaScript frameworks
  • Understanding of fashion retail and inventory management
  • Experience with performance optimization and SEO
