Job Description:
We are looking for a motivated and experienced IT and Network Support Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of experience in IT and network support, with a passion for problem-solving and a commitment to delivering the highest levels of performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for both hardware and software issues our users encounter
  • Manage the configuration and operation of client-based computer operating systems
  • Monitor the system daily and respond immediately to security or usability concerns
  • Create and verify backups of data
  • Respond to and resolve help desk requests
  • Upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution
  • Administer infrastructure, including firewalls, databases, malware protection software and other processes
  • Review application logs
  • Install and test computer-related equipment
  • Provide end-to-end technical support and troubleshooting for network issues including LAN/WAN, firewalls, routers, switches, and other networking devices.
  • Monitor network performance to determine if adjustments are needed and to identify outages or other network issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software, analyzing problems and monitoring networks to ensure their availability to users.
  • Establish and maintain user accounts, profiles, file sharing, access privileges and security.
  • Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations to ensure business continuity.
  • Coordinate with vendors and with company personnel to facilitate purchases and support activities.
  • Design and deploy company LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including servers, routers, hubs, switches, UPSs, and other hardware.
  • Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades relating to network and systems.
  • Participate in managing all network security solutions including firewall, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Document network problems and resolutions for future reference.
  • Train staff on new hardware or software applications as required.
  • Recommend improvements to the network, system, and application infrastructure.
  • Perform routine network startup and shutdown procedures, and maintain control records.
  • Provide emergency on-call support on a rotating schedule.
  • Ensure proper recording, documentation, and closure of troubleshooting guides.
  • Act as a liaison between staff and the technology department to resolve issues.
  • Work closely with departmental managers to determine the maintenance and growth needs of the network.
  • Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in IT support or network engineering
  • Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
  • Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Degree in Computer Science, engineering or relevant field is a plus
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or similar will be advantageous
